Established in 1991, the department is responsible for monitoring postgraduate medical education. Its activities include organization, coordination and control of the teaching and learning process and are carried out in the following directions:
- Internship;
- Residency;
- Ph.D. degree programme.
Internship
The course of studies at the Internship lasts for 1 year and starts from the 1st September till the 31st August (including holidays). After graduation the Specialization Certificate is provided.The course of studies at the Internship is available in the following specialties:

Documents required for Internship:
- Application for admission to the Internship with visa of a head of the department;
- State Diploma of Higher Education ( an original) and a Russian notarized copy;
- Certificate of recognition and equivalence (nostrification) of a foreign state document on education and academic degrees / or a copy of the request, and then reference-confirmation from the previous place of study;
- Photocopy of the passport, its translation and visas;
- The migration card and notice of registration;
- Medical certificate of blood test for HIV;
- Certificate of State Russian test for the 1st level;
- Photocopy of health insurance;
- 3 photos (3×4 or 4×6).
Residency
The course of studies at the Residency lasts for 2 years and starts from the 1st September till the 31st August (including holidays). After graduation the Specialist Certificate is provided.The course of studies at the Residency is available in the following specialties:

Ph.D. studies
